What I'm Learning: Q2

Quarter 2 was definitely not what I expected. And yet, it ended up being more than I could have hoped for.

If I could define Q2 in one word it would be, healing. We healed. A lot. After walking through grief and attacks in Q1 and practicing resting in God’s goodness and grace, we picked ourselves up in Q2 and found that we were stronger and more resilient than we thought.

There were a lot of battles to fight and lies to conquer but in the end, that’s just what happened. We no longer feel quite like we’re barely hanging on. Instead we feel like weary but ready warriors, walking along the path God has called us to and reveling in what He has for us.

In May, I got to share again at church and it was such a gift to use the gifts God’s given me and grow in confidence. We also took an international trip in Q2 that was restorative as well as deeply personal for me.

Walking in the footsteps of my ancestors really anchored me into the woman I know God has called me to be. I realized that I’ve spent a lot of time in the last few years shying away from that woman but more than ever, I feel confident to be brave and faithful. To be bold and not fearful of other’s perceptions or opinions. I feel free to walk in the life God has called me to live. To find joy in the ordinary and extraordinary and not let anyone steal that.

Can’t wait to see what Q3 holds.
